nRF54L Series SoCs

The nRF54L Series SoCs share a common architecture including the Arm Cortex-M33 CPU, a RISC-V coprocessor, peripherals, security, and the same radio. They differ in the available peripherals, in the amount of memory included, and the available package options, which affect the number of GPIO pins.

This approach offers flexibility when selecting an SoC, ensuring that the right device is chosen for a specific application while optimizing costs. By providing scaled memory options, you can select the SoC that meets your memory requirements without overprovisioning, thereby reducing cost.

The nRF54L Series comprises the following SoCs:

The nRF54L15, L10, L05, and the nRF54LM20A and nRF54LM20B are all general-purpose SoCs. The nRF54LM20A and B offer a wider range of peripherals, including high-speed USB. The nRF54LM20B also features an integrated Axon NPU, enhancing the speed and efficiency of on-device AI inferencing.

In contrast, the nRF54LV10A is optimized for applications that require a lower 1.2–1.7 V supply, while the other SoCs support VDD and GPIO voltages ranging from 1.7 to 3.6 V.

This device brings support for a sub-50 nA system hibernation mode for shipping and storage, and an ultra-compact 1.9 by 2.3 mm CSP package, the smallest in the nRF54L Series to date. It has a maximum TX power of +4 dBm, -101 dBm RX sensitivity for IEEE 802.15.4, and a minimal peripheral set.

These features make the nRF54LV10A the perfect choice for a wide range of connected health applications, including CGM (constant glucose monitors) and other wearable biosensors where support for low-voltage batteries such as silver oxide cell, and miniaturization, are essential.

Application areas

Although very similar with a common hardware architecture, the nRF54L Series SoCs differ in the available peripherals, in the amount of memory included, and the available package options, which affect the number of GPIO pins. Specifically, the nRF54LV10A is a fit-for-purpose device made for a wide range of connected health applications

Supported radio protocols

The table below shows an overview of the radio protocols supported in each SoC.

Packages

The nRF54L Series SoCs are offered in many different package options: QFN40, QFN48, and QFN52.

In addition, the nRF54L15, nRF54LM20A and nRF54LV10A are offered in CSP.
